We are pleased to announce Dawn Jackson Blatner, RD, CSSD as this year’s Keynote Speaker sponsored by Quaker Oats. In her presentation, “R.A.W. Blogging (Realistic & Achievable Wellness),” Dawn author of The Flexitarian Diet, will highlight her realistic & achievable principles that help people flexibly ease into a more plant-based way of eating. All the health information in the world can’t help people unless it’s R.A.W. (Realistic & Achievable Wellness).

This session will give you tools, tips & tricks to share with your readers including:

  • Plant-based eating trends
  • Three steps to starting & sticking to a plant-based diet
  • Starter grocery list
  • Protein swap chart
  • Ten ways to go plant-based via super grains and colorful veggies
  • Key cooking techniques to get even die-hard carnivores to love their veggies such as the “coffee-principle”, flavor-flavor training and umami.

Dawn Jackson Blatner, RD, CSSD is a registered dietitian in Chicago IL. She appears regularly in national media outlets such as The Dr. Oz Show, Dateline, Newsweek, Extra and WebMD. Dawn is a food and nutrition blogger with USA Today and The Huffington Post, the nutrition consultant for the Chicago Cubs, and a nutrition expert on the advisory board of Fitness magazine.She teaches healthy cooking classes and contributes health and wellness articles to magazines such as Fitness, Health, Yoga Journal, Vegetarian Times and Ladies Home Journal. She is the author of The Flexitarian Diet (McGraw Hill, 2009) and was the nutrition consultant for the New York Time’s Best Seller The Carb Lover’s Diet (Oxmoor House, 2010.) Most recently Dawn received Lifetime Television 2011 “Remarkable Woman Award” for her work in the field of nutrition.
